Until Fall 2007, there was no mathematics magazine aimed at the public on general sale in the United Kingdom. Sarah Shepherd, a PhD student at the University of Nottingham, decided that such a magazine would raise the profile of mathematics amongst the general public, and so she started iSquared to fill the gap.
